I started this site because the birding community deserves a space that's not a database, not a forum from 2004, and not a Facebook group where your uncle posts photos of pigeons. We wanted something that captures the feeling — the pre-dawn coffee, the ridiculous gear debates, sitting at a campsite looking up for an hour while your family carries on with life, the genuine awe of seeing a bird for the first time.
Warbler Neck is stories, culture, merch, and an unapologetic love letter to the hobby that makes grown adults whisper-scream in parking lots.
Hi, I'm Ben. I'm one guy in Northern Wisconsin who grew up reading the old bird books, over and over, memorizing the winter and breeding range maps. Then the internet came along, the Merlin app, and then sound id. It's a new, exciting world of learning about birds. But....it's still seems a little boring to anyone under 50 (I'm almost 50, so yeah, I'm digging on myself.) I've always had this voice in my head when thinking about these creatures, just never had the tools to make it happen. So, now, I can pull together my thoughts and hopefully get yours and have a little fun. Thanks for checking things out!
